MISSY, THE ENGAGEMENT CAT! N. William Delker of Concord, NH -- with the help of Missy a Maine Coon cat at the Conway Area Humane Society -- popped the question to Annmarie Timmins. Will knew that his girlfriend had been longing for a cat since the passing of her twelve-year-old Maine Coon a year and a half ago. He didnt let her know what he was up to while he quietly searched for such a cat. Will found Missy on www.petfinder.com where all adoptable Conway Area Humane Society animals are listed with pictures and personality information. When he saw Missy, he knew she was the one. Will and Annmarie recently drove up to the Mount Washington Valley for a ski trip. Will dropped Annmarie off at the Conway Library, I didnt know what he was doing, she said, "arranging something girlie like a pedicure." What he was doing was adopting Missy and decorating her cage with a card and ribbons. The card asked her to marry him. Missy, of course, was wearing a heart-covered bandanna for the occasion. Will picked up Annmarie at the library and made her keep her eyes closed all the way to Missys cage. She opened her eyes and the card, hugged her fianc, and saw the cat of her dreams. She had told Will that she did not want a diamond ring; she wanted a cat, an engagement cat. There is talk that Missy will be the flower girl!
