BARK
IN THE PARK 2000
Bark in the Park 2000, a celebration of all that the Conway Area
Humane Society will be, was a huge success even though the weather
made for a few nervous people.
The torrential downpour left over from hurricane Florence cleared
the area the night before as a dedicated crew of volunteers set
up the rings for the Bark in the Park 2000, Saturday, September
16th. The day broke with a beautiful blue sky with high white clouds,
perfect; over 1000 people and hundreds of happy canine companions
visited the park for this exciting event. It was truly a family
day at Schouler Park.

Everyone enjoyed the games, especially musical sit, which became
very competitive.
New this year, the Canine Freestyle demonstration was very popular.
There were things to do and watch all day. The first annual Strut
Your Mutt 2-Miler was a hit as the group took a quiet stroll through
Whitaker Woods and back to the park.

The Bark in the Park 2000, a howling success, raised
over $12,000 for the Conway Area Humane Society. Hundreds of tired
dogs slept well that night and dreamed of Bark in the Park 2001...Saturday,
September 15th.
