New Executive Director at Conway Area Humane Society
Conway
Area Humane Society has a new Executive Director. Linda Huebner will
begin part time at CAHS on February 1, 2007 and full-time on March
1, 2007.
Huebner leaves her current post as the Regional Program Manager for
the New England Regional Office of The Humane Society of the United
States (HSUS), the country’s largest animal protection organization.
Her work with HSUS involved a wide variety of issues affecting companion
animals, wildlife and farm animals. She worked closely with local
animal protection groups and federations by providing educational
resources and support.
Prior to working for HSUS, Huebner received her M.S. in Animals and
Public Policy from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine.
She also holds a B.S. in Animal Science from Cook College, Rutgers
University, where she spent three years assisting a doctoral candidate
with an equine nutrition research project. She has been riding horses
for 30 years, has worked in a veterinary hospital, and has volunteered
at a spay/neuter clinic and various animal shelters, as well as on
the Tufts Pet Loss Hotline.
“I am very excited to be working with such an enthusiastic,
committed group of people as the staff, board of directors and volunteers
of the Conway Area Humane Society,” said Huebner, “together
we can accomplish a lot for the animals of the Mt. Washington Valley.”
“Conway Area Humane Society is excited to welcome Linda to
our organization”, said Board President Lisa Webster. “She
brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to her new position,
and the Board and staff look forward to working with her to further
the mission of the CAHS."
Huebner is relocating to the Mt. Washington Valley from Vermont with
her partner, Ernie, and her adopted shelter dog, Wesley.
Huebner joins development director Virginia Moore in cultivating
the work of the CAHS and to strive in fulfilling the mission of CAHS.
