Conway Area Humane Society Spring Open House
Some of our best friends have four legs! So come and show your
appreciation for them by celebrating Be Kind to Animals Week at
the Conway Area Humane Society’s Open House on Saturday, May
5. (Be Kind to Animals Week runs from May 6 – 12.)
The day’s festivities begin at 9 a.m., with a bargain-lover’s
yard sale at the shelter, followed by a rabies and microchip clinic
with Dr. Sandy Brown from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Rabies vaccines will
be $15, distemper vaccines will be $10, and a microchip will cost
$25.
At 2:30 p.m., the Conway Area Humane Society will kick off its Educational
Program Series in the learning center with a program on kindness
to animals. Have fun while learning about topics you can use, such
as the proper way to approach a dog, gentle handling of cats and
kittens, and the importance of training. Participants will also
be treated to a story-time and some special surprises.
The Educational Series will feature a diverse array of programs
throughout the year, covering many animal-related topics. Keep your
eyes peeled for a schedule, to be posted on the shelter’s
website at conwayshelter.org.
Come visit the shelter on May 5, celebrate the furry critters with
us, find bargain treasures at the yard sale, enjoy refreshments,
and help “fill the van” to help the animals.
The Conway Area Humane Society is a non-profit, all-inclusive animal
