| 12th Annual Walk for the Animals nets over $18,000 for the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire - North
A frosty early autumn morning gave way to bright brilliant sunshine for the 12th annual Walk for the Animals and Bark in the Park Pet Expo held in Schouler Park Saturday, September 26. Eighty-five participants gathered in the sunshine to walk with their four-footed friends through Whittaker Woods. Top fundraisers for this year include, in the individual category, Hope Ullman in first place, Jayne Geddes in second, and Carol Penza taking third. The top dogs in the team division were, The Tarbell Terriers in first place, Walgreens Ruff Necks in second place and Wags ‘n Women coming in third. This year’s event netted $18,061 to help the animals in the care of the ARL North.
Hundreds of people and their dogs came out to Schouler Park to enjoy participating in the dog show, carnival games and visiting the vendor booths. Participants lined up to take part in the interactive agility run and the jump chute.
Highlights of the day included a K9 presentation by Officer Meredith Napier of the NH State Police K9 unit and Officer Brittany Perley from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit.
Canine adoptees from ARL North and other rescue organizations gathered at the end of the day for a group photo.
