Tuxes and Tails auction raises record-breaking $43,000 for the animals
The evening of Saturday, November 13 marked the 2nd Annual Tuxes and Tails Dinner and Auction to benefit the animals of the Animal Rescue League of NH-North. The event was held once again at the Wentworth Resort in lovely Jackson Village. Over 130 animal lovers came out for the evening in their formal and semi-formal attire. The bidding was lively and exciting with winners acquiring such amazing items as the opportunity to have their dog immortalized in author Lisa Gardner’s 2012 mystery novel, trips to exotic places including California Wine Country, Costa Rica and South Africa, a personal tour of Boston’s North End by a Boston chef, a Mount Washington Observatory winter overnight EduTrip, tickets to the American Ballet Theatre in New York City and many more amazing items and experiences.
This year’s event raised a net of more than $43,000 for the animals in the Conway shelter’s care.
Thank you to the board members of both ARLNH and ARLNH-North, and to the volunteers, staff, donors, and attendees of this year’s Tuxes and Tails Dinner and Auction. Thanks to sponsors Dutch Bloemen Winkle, Silverline Graphics, Fryeburg Veterinary Hospital and Karen Stancik Photography.
Conway shelter residents Ty the Jack Russell Terrier and Harvest the orange tiger cat were able to attend the event and both had a wonderful time. Harvest met her soon-to-be family at the event, as they came to the shelter the following morning to adopt her after falling in love with her at Tuxes and Tails.
