Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire - North volunteers continuing work on community dog park, projected to open later this summer
CONWAY — Responding to interest from the community for a dog park, the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire - North has surveyed over an acre of land on the ARL North property, and has completed much of the work to clear the area for the park. The park will be situated behind the Conway shelter on over an acre of land.
Steve Boulter, a member of the ARL North board of directors is heading up the project, and has organized a steering committee to oversee the project.
Area residents and visitors alike have expressed interest in having a dog park to enable their pets to socialize with other animals and run off-leash. The cost for the park is anticipated to be minimal; Kathy and Brian Ahearn of Four Your Paws Only have set up a display about the park at their store, and have begun collecting donations for the project. Volunteers have started to clear and chip the brush for bedding, setting posts, and stringing the fence.
Several local businesses have donated materials and labor to help complete the project. Heavy equipment has been brought in to prepare the land for setting the fence posts and stringing the fence.
If you would like to donate time, supplies, or provide financial support for the dog park please call Steve Boulter at†(978) 465-1561 or e-mail him at srboulter@comcast.net for more information. The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire - North is located at 223 East Main Street (Rte. 113) in Conway.
